ST. CATHARINES (CP)—Doug Favell, goaltender with Philadelphia Flyers in the National Hockey League and a high scoring forward with Detroit Olympics of the National Lacrosse Association, will play his last game with the Olympics Sunday night in Detroit.
“I enjoy lacrosse,” said Favell, fifth highest points scorer in the lacrosse league. “But my future is in hockey and I just can’t jeopardize that career.” He said that he had been asked by Philadelphia General Manager Bud Poile to quit lacrosse at least a month before training camp opens.
