(Volume 1, Number 2—May 1974)
by Annette E. Cuomo
In the beginning, the votes were coming in very slowly, then the ballots came in at a steady rate during the games, at the Spectrum. Suddenly the ballots were pouring in by mail. For a couple of days the votes seemed to be coming in with almost the same names on each ballot, or so it seemed; because, three players were tied for first place and four players were tied for second place. Suddenly, on the last night of the ballot counting who jumps way out into the lead but Jim Wasson. There seems to be a little bit more excitement in this election for the fan club; everyone was waiting to see who the very first player of the month would be.
As of this printing Jim Wasson has 28 goals, 16 assists, for a total of 44 points. Surprisingly, Jim also leads the team in penalties with 48 minutes to his (*#*@!) credit.
Congratulations, Jim, don’t quit now, you can be player of the month more tha once you know. Just think of all those voters who are watching you, give ‘em your vote of confidence in yourself.
